Seems like way back n the XP days there was a registry hack where you could fix it, or rather put in the correct key but I can’t seem to find it. I just had this issue. In the Product Key Screen there is a troubleshoot link at the bottom. I clicked that and it ran for about 15 seconds before activating Server with the product key that I gave it.
